My comments from a previous thread - http://www.archive.org/post/313790/cream-puff-war

There are varying levels of availability and quality in the available versions of Cream Puff War.

05-19-66 is available in full at LMA. Jamming isn't really all that compelling though.

07-03-66 is not available and is not listed in the setlist at LMA. There seems to be a lot of confusion about this date.

07-30-66 is available in full and is good quality. Decent jamming, but not all that crunchy. I want more!! Organ sounds good on this one.

11-19-66 has a nice Miller source at LMA. Sounds much more electric than the previous. All the parts are more nuanced, and Jerry's soloing is much-improved. This is one of the better ones for sure.

11-29-66 LMA source only has about 2 minutes of CPW

12-01-66 The tape is too fast (and not very loud) on the versions I found. Makes it hard to evaluate.

03-18-67 Set opener. Great quality. The last CPW ever is a bit shorter than some of the others, but is a really great jam.

I'm not sure which version is the best. Probably 11/19/66 or 3/18/67. Too bad they didn't carry this one with them into 68-69, where I'm sure it would have really blossomed.

3/18/67 takes the cake for me...That insane soloing on the Guild sounds incredible.
